Service Description

In this class, you will have the opportunity to fully dive into different characters and make them your own. We will be working off the foundational acting techniques inspired by Stanislavski and Stella Adler as well as combine a variety of contemporary practices to help you find more grounding, presence, ease and truth in your acting. These 8 weeks will begin with monologue work, where you will explore and be coached on a monologue of your choosing, learning and exploring all the elements of character work, relationship, voice, and text analysis. We will then move into scene work where you will be assigned a top level scene and scene partner in which you will have the chance to be coached numerous times, leading to a fully rehearsed and staged scene. DATES / TIMES: Sundays | May 12 - June 23 | 12:30-2:30 p.m. (No class June 2) LOCATION: Winakwa Community Centre - MPR #2 COST: $315.00 Including GST Payment options: Via website, or e-Transfer (info@thewinnipegactorsacademy.com). ***Payment Plans available upon request.*** WITHDRAWAL POLICY: Cancellations made more than 7 days in advance of the class start date will receive a 100% refund of the session fee. Cancellations made within a week to the class start date will incur a $100 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given once the class session has started. SUBSTITUTION POLICY: As Michael is a working actor, a qualified substitute will be assigned to the class in the event that he is booked for a role that causes him to be unavailable. You will be advised if such an event occurs ahead of time. MISSED CLASSES We have a policy that classes are non-transferable and we have an expectation that it is the actor's responsibility to attend all classes for which they have registered. Any accommodation of a student's schedule is at the discretion of the instructor.
