A 3-month immersive program
Teen Academy
The Teen Academy is a 3-month long immersive filmmaking program, offering teenagers the chance to experience the full spectrum of film production.
This course will teach the fundamentals of acting in front of a camera and the foundations of becoming a dynamic and confident actor.
In addition, we will be practicing the art of cinematography. A hands-on approach will teach students how to set up and operate a camera, understand and control both natural and studio lighting, as well as know the function and use of camera components and accessories.
We will look at story development and foundational topics such as character, three-act structure, dialogue, theme, genre, and more.
Students will be able to utilize new tools to strengthen their knowledge of framing, movement and lighting, as well as having motivation and cinematic purpose to support their creative decisions behind the camera.
Students will work on two smaller projects during the year, such as short films or commercials, leading up to a major movie project.
The program will culminate in a red carpet premiere event, complete with a celebratory atmosphere.
Students also receive a welcome package full of The Winnipeg Actors Academy gear!
